Baby Naming Ceremony

What Is A Baby Naming Ceremony?

A Baby Naming Ceremony is a personalised ceremony designed to welcome a baby and to introduce them formally to their family and friends.

This ceremony is usually held shortly after the baby's birth or is often combined with the child's first birthday celebrations.

The parents usually select God Parents, Guardians or Mentors who they believe will take a genuine interest in their child and who may guide the child as they grow to be an adult. I encourage these chosen friends or relatives to be involved in the day by selecting readings, poems or blessings for the ceremony. Grandparents are also often involved in the day as they usually play a very important role in the child's life.

Your chosen ceremony can be as simple or as elaborate as you require and I will help you create the right type of ceremony for your needs.

A personalised certificate will be presented to you together with a presentation copy of the Name Giving Ceremony as your keepsake. Please be aware that unlike a Birth Certificate, which is a legal document, the Naming Certificate is unable to be used as Proof of Identification.
