Wedding Ceremony

Your Wedding Ceremony

Your wedding is your special day, and as everyone is different, I am here to help you create the ceremony that you want. From a small and simple ceremony to an extravagant ceremony with all the bells and whistles.

I can help you with sample ceremonies and a wide choice of poems, readings, and ideas (if that’s your bag). It is vital that your ceremony is what you want and reflects your personalities and beliefs. Weddings can be booked a long time in advance, and some months are particularly busy. If you feel that I would be the celebrant you would like to perform at your ceremony, please call, or email me as early as possible to ensure my availability on your chosen day. A $250 Booking Fee will confirm your date.

What happens next?

First, we will meet to discuss the type of ceremony you would like and talk about poems and readings etc. I have an extensive collection that you can choose from, or you can write your own if you choose.

I will spend a lot of time discussing your ceremony with you, so we can make it very personal to you. Every ceremony I write is tailor made to suit your wants and needs.

Apart from some small parts which legally have to be included, we can add any readings, poems, rituals or symbolic gestures that you would like. We will work together to get it just right, however long it takes!

You may have unlimited meetings, email access and a rehearsal if you require one.

I will travel wherever I need to for the ceremony, although travel surcharges may apply in certain circumstances.

I work with all aspects of the ceremony to ensure everything runs smoothly, and do whatever I can to assist you in creating the perfect wedding ceremony for you.

Conditions to Marriage

You must be over the age of 18 years to marry, and you must not be currently married to any other person. Before your wedding I will need to see your birth certificates, either originals or extracts. If you don’t have one I can show you how to apply for one. If you were born overseas, a current overseas passport is also acceptable. If you have been married before, I will need to see evidence as to how your last marriage ended, either Decree Absolute or Death Certificate.

A Notice of Intention to Marry is required to be filled out and lodged with your celebrant at least one month before the date of your wedding. This is a legal requirement, however there are some circumstances in which the Office of Births Deaths and Marriages may grant a shortening of the time.

At your wedding you will need to have 2 witnesses over the age of 18 years. I will lodge the relevant forms to the Office of Births Deaths and Marriages within 14 days of your ceremony.
